Rock Of Ages

Jesus thought for a moment and then replied, “He that is without sin among you, let him cast the first stone at her. ( she was guilty of adultery and so are we) Who can rightfully judge anyone of sin and not be condemned of their own conscience. If your conscience condemns you you are condemned already. Not by stoning or by law but by our own guilt.

Just a moment, let’s think about what Jesus meant about casting the first stone. If you can’t throw the first stone then the law has ran its course. A school mast indicative of the entire law. She was guilty but not to death in the Rock of Ages. The Law did serve a purpose but could not bring her to the righteousness with God, who is Jesus. We are all sinners falling short of the glory of God and was condemned to death. So we say that Jesus is the fulfillment of all the Law of God. Who was killed for our sins. Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to received power. First to the house of Israel and then to the utter most parts of the world. ‘ Rock of ages cleft for me. Let me hide myself I’m thee. Let the water and thy blood from your riven side which flowed. Oh of sin the double cure. Cleanse me from its guilt and power nothing in my hand I bring. Simply to the cross I cling.
